Thank you for your interest in our Scholarship program. Our scholarship program is closed for the 2012 Conference. We hope you will choose to come to some part of the conference anyhow or join us another year.
Please read this information carefully before you apply for a scholarship by clicking the link at the bottom of this page.
Scholarships will be available for the 3 day conference, Saturday Conference, Sunday Conference, Thursday Pre-conference and/or Friday Pre-conference. registrations. No scholarships are available for tours, the Writers/Researchers Workshop or the Saturday banquet only. If you receive a scholarship, your registration fee will be discounted by 50%. You will need to cover all other conference expenses on your own, including the rest of the conference fee, housing, travel, etc.
Most applicants will receive a Work-Trade Scholarship. Work-trade is for specific tasks including opportunities both before and during the conference. See more details on work-trade below.
To receive a conference scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:
There is a wide variety of work available from social marketing to helping with exhibit set-up. If you are unable to perform work-trade, you may explain why on the application form.
Work-Trade Scholarships are open to all conference attendees who meet the criteria listed above. You will be expected to perform at least 10 hours of work trade for a scholarship for the 3 day conference and 5 hours of work trade for a single day. The scholarship will be for 50% of the registration fee. Some jobs will have additional time requirements which will be done on a volunteer basis.
Those accepted for scholarships will arrange jobs with the Volunteer Coordinator. If you are doing your work trade during the conference, you should expect to do a portion of your work during conference sessions.
Presenters are eligible for scholarships, however work done on their presentations is strictly volunteer and not part of the work trade.
We will not be able to replace all our volunteer needs with work-trade. If you do not meet the scholarship criteria, we would greatly appreciate if if you would volunteer to help with the conference. We need you.
